In my first dedicated assistant editing role, I had the opportunity to assist editor Dermot Diskin on Showbands II. Working on site in county Galway, I supported the editing process by organising footage, preparing sequences, and helping ensure the overall flow of the post-production process both during production and back on site in Windmill Lane Studios.

Showbands II is a drama set in the vibrant music scene of 1960s Ireland, following a group of musicians as they navigate fame, rivalry, and the changing cultural landscape. The series explores the struggles and successes of the fictional band, as they deal with personal and professional challenges while trying to make it big. With its focus on music, relationships, and ambition, Showbands II captures the essence of an era defined by the rise of live music in Ireland.
